Today Mommy's Little Miracle is featuring a brand who is making postpartum bleeding more bearable and dare I say comfortable - Pink Lemonade Shop!
When I decided to get greener with my time of the month over a year ago, I had no idea how much I would love the transition and how well my body would respond to it. I use to get horrible periods with days of intense cramping and a heavy flow, but since making the switch from chemical filled disposable menstrual products, to Pink Lemonade Shop pads, my cramping has been minimal and my periods have been a moderate to light flow. I loved the Pink Lemonade Shop brand so much that I became an ambassador for them and I now make it my personal mission to help women everywhere switch to cloth to see the difference for themselves!

"I am a SAHM/WAHM to 4 beautiful children and wife to my wonderful husband of 10 years. After the birth of our third child, I decided to take the plunge and quit my full-time job to stay at home with our kids. I appreciate your support in visiting my store.
I believe in providing my customers with an excellent quality product and prompt, friendly customer service. I’m also a bit of a fabric snob and only use the very best fabrics to make my cloth menstrual pads. Hand dyed Bamboo Velour, Lusciously soft Minky, and designer Cotton Woven prints are just a hint of some of the wonderful fabrics that I have to offer.
The bottom layer of my pads is made with high quality Water Resistant Fleece or breathable Wool Interlock."

One product of Pink Lemonade Shop's that I have always had my eye on are their 13 inch Postpartum Pads. While I knew I didn't need such a large pad for my normal monthly flows, I knew that once I became pregnant I would want to start building a postpartum stash so that I could be ready for the first 6 weeks or so after delivery. When Little Boy was conceived I immediately reached out to Sue and she began a custom postpartum stash for me!
Shortly after I began accumulating my 13 inch Postpartum pads, she introduced a new size that is not only perfect for postpartum as well, but is wonderful with women who have a heavy flow overnight or just feel more comfortable having extra night (or even day!) protection. The 12" Ultimate Overnight Pad became an instant success for Pink Lemonade Shop fans and I personally love the option of having two different sizes for postpartum bleeding. Not only will I be 150 times more comfortable during those first handful of weeks after delivery, but I love knowing that there won't be chemicals next to such a sensitive area of my body, especially if I have another rough delivery like I did with Little Mister!
As you can probably guess by the names of the pads, the 13 Inch Postpartum measures 13 inches in length, and the 12 Inch Ultimate Overnight measures 12 inches. Needless to say these pads have a one inch difference in length, making them perfect for not only different stages in postpartum bleeding, but for different sizes in women as well! Since no two momma's are the same, it's great to have options when it comes to sizing so that you accurately adjust to your comfort.
For maximum period protection, the 13 Inch Postpartum and the 12 Inch Ultimate Overnight measure there inches across the center when snapped, and are backed with a water resistant Windpro Fleece. Inside of the pad is an ultra absorbent bamboo fleece core, making these pads absolutely perfect for postpartum!
To secure your pad to your panties, each pad includes a high quality poly-resin snap in a coordinating color to the top layer of fabric. I have always found that my Pink Lemonade Shop pads have no problem staying in place between the poly-resin snap and the Windpro Fleece backing, they work together great to keep your pad staying where it should!
Pink Lemonade Shop pads are in available in a variety of fabric options; Sue calls herself a "fabric snob" and goes above and beyond to find the best quality fabrics and cutest prints, even going as far as hand dying her own bamboo velour! My absolute favorite are the minky topped pads, they are extremely soft and comfortable which is wonderful when you're dealing with your time of the month, and even better after you've had a child! I have also purchased Pink Lemonade Shop pads in bamboo velour, cotton, and raw silk and love them all (although I will tell you that I have yet to try my raw silk thong pantyliner, I just received it last week and since I am pregnant, it will have to sit in my pretty little stash until my period returns!). The best part about Pink Lemonade Shop is that if you see a pad in a fabric that you just love, but can't find it in the size that you want/need, Sue will custom make the pad for you! She even accommodates large custom orders, which I took her up on for my postpartum stash!
I absolutely adore Pink Lemonade Shop pads, so much in fact that I am a Pink Lemonade Shop ambassador! While I completely understand that cloth menstrual pads may not be everyones cup of tea, I highly recommend that you try them out for yourself before you make your final decision about making the switch to cloth menstrual pads. Once I finally gave it a go, I never looked back, and I can honestly say that I am looking forward to my postpartum bleeding, just so that I can enjoy my comfortable Pink Lemonade Shop pads! Pink Lemonade Shop offers a variety of pad sizes so that every woman can create their own custom stash based off what will work for their periods! They offer a 6 inch Mini Liner, 7.5 inch Pantyliner, 7.5 inch Thong Pantyliner, 8 inch Light Pad, 9 inch Day Pad, 10 inch Heavy Pad, 11 inch Overnight Pad, and of course the 12 inch Ultimate Overnight and the 13 inch Postpartum pads that we just discussed! In addition to pads, Pink Lemonade Shop offers wet bags, detergent, nursing pads, and rumor has it (shhh it's a secret!) they will be soon expanding into a handful of other wonderful products as well! Visit their website to see the full selection!

I would love to try these!! I have been wanting to go green and make the switch! :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't started with mama cloth yet but I would like to try it because it is better for the environment and looks way more comfortable that the disposable stuff! I love the 12" midnight owls minky
ReplyDeleteI've been using cloth pads for 3 cycles....though I've only started my stash!
ReplyDeleteI have been using organic pads, but would love to try cloth pads.
ReplyDeleteHaven't technically used mama cloth yet but I plan on it starting when this baby is born! I did make a few panty liners to try while I'm pregnant. They are much more comfortable than disposables. I just throw them in my regular wash.
ReplyDeleteEver since I started my baby on cloth diapers, I've been hearing about mama cloth. I want to try it out! But sadly, like cloth diapers, it's a large investment to get started in it and we're only on one income. I'd love to be able to start it out!
ReplyDeleteI've been using cloth for a couple of years.
ReplyDeleteI love her pads, especially her hand dyed bamboo.
ReplyDeleteI use cloth pads, but I only have 4. I love using them, but I wish I had more! I usually use them on heavy days and use disposable panty liners once they are all dirty.
ReplyDeleteI really love the Pink Sherbet liner, this is such a cute pattern!!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know cloth pads existed until now and after reading this review and some others that I found after researching a little further, I'm REALLY excited that they exist and even more excited to try them after I have my baby!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteSince I have never used cloth pads, I am most interested in the starter sets to figure out which sizes will work best for me and then I will stock up on the perfect sizes once I figure it out. I'm also VERY interested in the post partum starter sets for after I have my baby!
ReplyDeleteI would love to get the Set of 6 Rainbow Minky Pads with Fleece backs or the Set of 6 Rainbow Cotton Velour Pads with Fleece backs
ReplyDeleteI'd like to try cloth so I'm not wasting so many paper-and-adhesive ones. My period lasts a long time.
ReplyDeleteI would definitely get the rainbow ones!
ReplyDeleteI have not tried them yet but am trying to explore these types of choices more.
ReplyDeleteI like the Set of 6 Rainbow Minky Pads with Fleece backs.
ReplyDeleteHer set of 8 rainbow cotton velour looks so comfy and so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of PLS pads but I would love to try the 12" Love Birds cotton pad. Btw, I love, love, love the 12"! It's absolutely perfect for me at night.
ReplyDeleteSet of Four 9 Inch Surprise Print Minky Day Pads with Fleece backs is what I would get. These sound so much better than the disposable pads I have been using.
ReplyDeleteI love the 8" Turquoise Tiles Minky pad! I love my mama cloth!

ReplyDelete8 Inch Tiffany Floret Minky Light Pad with Fleece back are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI have not started used cloth pads but I'm using cloth diapers with my little one and loving the savings, both environmental and financial, and want to carry that savings over to other areas of my life. I'm thinking about starting with the cloth pads, it's not like we don't already do laundry!
ReplyDeleteThe 4 Pair Set of Hand Dyed Bamboo Velour Nursing Pads with PUL backs look awesome. Since I'm nursing my little one I'm always washing my nursing pads, or buying disposable because the reusable are always in the wash. Would love some with the PUL backs so that if they do get really wet it doesn't go through to my shirt right away!!
ReplyDeleteI don't currently use them but have been curious about them since I started cloth diapering!
ReplyDeleteI would like to try the Set of 4 Minky Pads with Fleece backs. They look like really pretty prints too!

ReplyDeletePlan to make the switch starting with my first postpartum period. I looked into cloth years ago in college (cough cough, a decade ago) and wasn't able to living in a dorm. I then forgot about it until recently.
ReplyDeleteI have not tried them yet but would like to give them a try. The chemicals in regular products concern me and organic/chlorine free products get pricey!

ReplyDeleteCindy B (on gt/fb) http://pinklemonadeshop.3dcartstores.com/Set-of-2-13-Inch-Minky-Post-Partum-Pads-with-Fleece-backs_p_94.html I'd actually probably get two set of these and one set of smaller ones :)
ReplyDeleteI don't have many so I can't use them as much as I'd like but I've been using them for a few months now ;) I've been switching because I think there are too many chemicals in the disposable kind (both for my body and the environment).
ReplyDeleteThis set of three minky postpartum, http://pinklemonadeshop.3dcartstores.com/Set-of-3-13-Inch-Minky-Post-Partum-Pads-with-Fleece-backs_p_458.html
