The Guilt Free Chocolate Chip Cookie

Chocolate Chip Cookies. Who doesn't love an awesome, warm, ooey gooey chocolate chip cookie, right?

They seem to be my downfall. I crave them and I want them NOW, but they're not exactly the healthiest, especially when you want to consume them all the time. Well guys, I have your solution.

The Guilt Free Chocolate Chip Cookie.

Yes, you read that right. Guilt Free and cookie in the same sentence. I admit I was skeptical, but I gave them a shot and I have made this recipe about 4 times in the last two weeks. I just can't get enough! Now here's your fair warning. This is a very healthy cookie and does have a different texture than a regular cookie does. But if you're open minded, I have a feeling you will love them as much as I do! The original recipe was adapted from here, but I tend to be a 'use what you have on hand' type of gal so I changed it a bit! I'll be curious to hear what you think of these so make sure to come back and tell me!

What You Need:

- 2/3 Cup Almonds
- 2/3 Cup Old Fashioned Oats
- 3 Tablespoons of Raw Honey
- 1 Teaspoon of Vanilla
- 1 Teaspoon of Cinnamon
- 1/8 Cup of Flour
- 1-2 Tablespoons of Water (this will vary each time)
- Chocolate Chips (I eyeball them :) )

What You Need to Do:

Preheat your oven to 325 degrees. Place all items except chocolate chips into your food processor and blend until a thick dough forms. If the dough is to thick, add 1 tablespoon of water at a time, blending between adding it, until your mixture looks moist.

Hand stir in your chocolate chips, then use a cookie scoop or grab some dough with your hands and roll into balls. Place onto a greased cookie sheet and bake for 20 minutes!

Your cookies will be a beautiful golden brown color when you pull them out of the oven, and the chocolate chips will be deliciously melted! If you so choose you can squish down the balls so that they do not stay formed as mine do, but it's really just a matter of preference!

My whole family loves these and I love that when Little Mister asks me for more than one, I can say YES! because I know exactly what's in them and know that it's all healthy!

The cookies have a very delicious and nutty texture which I greatly enjoy, if you're not a fan of nuts/almonds then I would say these cookies aren't for you, but give them a shot before you wrinkle your nose - these have quickly become a household favorite for us!

Enjoy!
