KaZam Balance Bikes {MCO's Birthday Bash}

*I received a complimentary Kazam Balance Bike for review in exchange for my honest thoughts and opinions*

MCO's Birthday Bash is continuing our celebration with an amazing giveaway for a Kazam Balance Bike!

It's that time of year again and we're celebrating MCO's 2nd blog-birthday! Mommys Craft Obsession started in May 2012 and their birthday bash has become their most anticipated event of the year! We are so glad that you could join us for this event! We highly recommend that you bookmark the open giveaway page by clicking on the image below then adding it to your bookmarks bar! During the next week you will have the chance to enter to win some amazing prizes from items for YOU and things for your little one!

Kazam has the balance first, pedal next approach to learning how to ride a traditional bike.  If you have a three to six year old who is not riding a bike yet, skip the training wheels, and teach your child to balance first using the award-winning Kazam Balance Bike!

Teaching Little Miss to ride her bike without training wheels has been quite a difficult task; she doesn't have great balance, or the confidence to take off on her big girl bike just yet.  When I saw Kazam on Shark Tank with their Balance Bike I loved the idea of the balance first approach to teaching a child to ride a bike and knew Little Miss needed one!  I was thrilled when Kazam agreed to let me review one of their Balance Bikes for our Birthday Bash!

Kazam was generous enough to send me a Green Balance Bike and a Childs Helmet for review! My husband had this put together in about 5 minutes; he said it was very easy!

We put the Balance Bike together while the kids were sleeping; when they saw it the next morning they were both so excited!  Baby C kept saying, "Bike awesome!" it was so cute!  Little Miss couldn't figure out why it didn't have pedals, but couldn't wait to give it a try!

Kazam is uniquely designed with a foot rest, allowing children to lift their feet up naturally and position them on to the foot rest maintaining proper balance and center of gravity, it is the most realistic approach to learning coordination and balance; and ultimately teaching kids how to ride a pedaled bike.

The Balance Bike has a weight capacity of 75 pounds, adjustable handlebars, an adjustable seat, and is made for children ages 3-6 years old.  The seat height is super easy to adjust, which makes switching between Little Miss who is 5 and needs the seat all the way up and Baby C who is 2 and needs the seat all the way down very simple.  All you do is pull the clamp out adjust the seat to the proper height and push the clamp back in to tighten, it literally takes less then a minute.

Kazam also sent me a Runt Child's Helmet in Silver with Multi-Color Stripes that goes perfect with the bike!  This is a great helmet, I love that it has an aerodynamic venting system for maximum cooling, we live in Arizona and it is starting to get very hot out.  Another great feature is the Dial Fit System that adjusts the fit of the helmet with the turn of a dial giving your child the perfect fit!

I have to say I love the idea of the balance first, pedal next approach to riding a bike, Little Miss is really enjoying the balance bike, she has only had it a short time, but she is already starting to get her balance figured out!  I'm sure it won't be long before she has the confidence to hop on her traditional bike and take off without training wheels!

This is Baby C's first bike!  He is already starting to get the hang of it, although he is still a little cautious about putting his feet up on the footrest.  I can't wait to see him zooming around on his awesome new bike!

I would highly recommend a Kazam Balance Bike to anyone with small children, this is a great way to help build your child's confidence and teach them balance, making the switch to a traditional bike without training wheels a happy, easy experience!

May is Bike Month!  Why not celebrate with a new Kazam Balance Bike for your little one!

  3. Love this bike! It's really cool that you do not have to use training wheels with it, and it teaches kids how to balance before peddling. Sounds very effective, and like a less scary experience for kids who are just learning.

  43. These are so cool!! I had no problems with learning how to ride a bike and I taught myself to ride without training wheels but not all kids are like that. My sister and my brother took FOREVER to learn and I think that if they had this before hand it would have made it a lot easier for them vs the whole "push you down the hill" technique. Anyway....our son is 2 1/2 and it would be for him :)

  51. My daughter is getting her first balance bike next month, but I am not sure which one to buy. She saw a wooden balance bike a week ago and now only wants that one. She says the metal ones do not look as pretty as the wooden one. But, I want to buy a durable bike and seeing that wooden bikes can't always withstand intense weather, the metal bike sounds like the better option. How do I convince her? I do not want to force her into a decision, but when it comes to durability I need to think logically. Any suggestions?

    1. Hi Jack,

How exciting for your daughter! I completely understand that she loves the wooden bike, but the longevity of a metal bike suits your needs better! If I were in your shoes I would purchase the metal bike and then as an extra special birthday treat, take her to the store and let her pick out a few "accessories" for her new bike to "make it pretty". Perhaps a helmet, basket, and horn in her choice of colors and what not?

      Hope that helps!
