Easy Puree's & Smoothies for Picky Eaters

If your child or children are anything like my son, every meal you're given a run for your money. I cannot for the life of me get Little Mister to eat anything that I make so thick textured puree's that can be eaten like pudding and smoothies have been a go to. Below are some go-to recipes that I make for Little Mister when I'm feeling frustrated and just want to get a meal down into that belly of his!

Banana/Blueberry/Oatmeal

1 Whole Banana
1/3 Cup Blueberries
1 Cup Cooked Oatmeal

Blend all three ingredients together to desired consistency. Enjoyed best when luke warm.

Banana/Oatmeal/Yogurt

1 Whole Banana
1 Cup Cooked Oatmeal
1 Cup of Organic Vanilla Yogurt

Blend all three ingredients together to desired consistency. Little Mister likes this one best cold.

Carrot/Apple/Strawberry/Oatmeal

10 Baby Carrots
1 Whole Apple Cored and Peeled
5 Strawberries
1 Cup Cooked Oatmeal

Steam your carrots, apples, and strawberries. Blend together to desired consistency.

Oatmeal/Yogurt/Cinnamon

1 Cup Cooked Oatmeal
1 Cup Organic Vanilla Yogurt
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon

Blend until smooth. Little Mister likes this one in his Sili Squeeze

Spinach/Broccoli/Pear/Oatmeal

1/2 Cup Spinach
1/2 Cup Broccoli
1 Pear Peeled and Sliced
1 Cup Oatmeal

Steam the spinach, broccoli, and pear. Blend until smooth.

Toddler Tropical

1/4 Cup of Milk
3-5 Chunks of Pineapple
3-4 Apple Slices
1/2 Banana
2-3 Strawberries
2-3 Orange Slices
Handful of Ice

Blend until smooth, add more milk if the fruit juices did not bring it to the desired consistency. For an extra boost of vitamins, add in a small handful of fresh spinach!

Little Mister's Favorite

1/4 Cup of Milk
1 Banana
1 Small Handful of Spinach
2-3 Strawberries
1-2 Spoonfuls of Nesquik
Handful of Ice

Blend until smooth, add more milk if needed to reach the desired consistency.

StrawSpinNana

1/4 Cup of Milk
1 Banana
3-4 Strawberries
1 Large Handful of Spinach
Handful of Ice

Blend until smooth, add more milk if needed to reach the desired consistency.

Veggie Delight

1/4 Cup of Milk
5-6 Carrots
1 Handful of Spinach
1 Banana
2-3 Strawberries
Handful of Ice

Blend until smooth, add more milk if needed to reach the desired consistency.

All of the smoothies above are delicious with vanilla greek yogurt added to them! You could also add apple or orange juice as a substitution for milk if your child has a lactose intolerance.

Enjoy!

  1. Thanks for sharing this! I would much rather make my own smoothies/purees than buy the ones at the store..very overpriced!
