Wallum's Review & Giveaway

"When I grow up, I can't wait to own a house so I can decorate it however I please". Does that quote sound familiar? Perhaps you said it to yourself when you were young, or perhaps you still are saying it as you patiently await the day you can finally own your own home. I know that for me, I'm still saying it. I'm looking forward to owning a home that I can paint, decorate, and redecorate to my hearts desire. Being a renter you are usually not aloud to paint the walls, so what do you do if you're stuck with a boring white wall with nothing to decorate it with? With the help of Wallums, you can add style and color to your homes walls without having to paint or add unnecessary holes in the wall!

Wallums is based out of a crazy little town called Sebastopol, CA (my hometown!) and is ran by Michelle and Steven, a quiet couple who stumbled upon a passion for wall decals and began their business back in 2010. Wallums is dedicated to customer service and quality, always going the extra mile
to make sure that their customers are satisfied with their design and their purchase. Wallums uses high quality machinery and vinyl to create your wall art (as seen in the photo above), ensuring that your wall decal will not only be gorgeous, but long lasting as well. Wallums decals are 100% removable.

Wallums generously gave me a website credit so that I could choose and/or design the wall decals that I wanted for my home. I decided to do something for myself (oh yeah, and I guess for Mr. Hunky's viewing pleasure as well) and for Baby A's room. When the decals arrived they were delivered in a box which I thought was great, it allowed the decals to lay flat and avoid the risk of being bent during delivery. When I looked at the decals they were even more beautiful in person than when I chose/designed them online!

For easy installation, Wallums will provide you with detailed application instructions as well as a "squeegee" to help apply the decal securely to the wall. The squeegee is easy to hold in your hand and makes transferring the decal to the wall very easy since it applies more pressure onto the decal than your hand would!

For Baby A's room I custom made his name into a decal to put above his bead! Baby A is a ridiculously huge fan of Mickey Mouse so when I was prompted to choose which font, I couldn't help with going with "Waltograph" and get Baby A's name in Disney scripture! The thing that I loved most about creating my own decal is that Wallums lets you choose whatever font that you want, so long as it is available on the website DaFont, and that website has every type of font you can possibly think of!!! I also got to customize the color of the decal and of course the sizing. In the photos below you can see what the decal looked like as I applied it to the wall (left) and after I peeled off the adhesive paper (right). Applying Baby A's name to the wall was simple and took only about 2-3 minutes total!

For my second decal I chose a quote that was already designed, but that I thought would look amazing in our home. I have always been a fan of the quote "Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but buy the moments that take our breath away", and when I saw it on the Wallums website I knew I wanted that! Wallums allows you to customize the decal by choosing the size and the color of the font. Not knowing whether I wanted to put it in our bedroom or in the hallway, I went with black font so that it would look great where ever I put it! When it arrived I decided that would be the perfect size for the hallway, so needless to say, that's where it now is! Application of the full quote was more of a challenge to apply to the wall than Baby A's name was due to the amount of characters and the whispy-ness of some of the lettering. In total it took about 10 minutes for me to apply to the wall, and I did mess up a letter (luckily I was able to smooth it out and unless you're really staring at it, it's not noticeable. In the photos below, the left side is just after applying the decal to the wall, and the right is when it was all said and done!

As an added bonus, Wallums sent me two tiny sparrow decals which I decided would look perfect on my iPad case! Applying the sparrows to my iPad case was just as simple as it was to apply it to the wall and in total took about thirty seconds for each sparrow!

Wallums Decal's are the perfect addition to your home, especially if you are unable to paint your walls! They go on quickly and efficiently, and come off just as easily! Wallums Decals are perfect for any room in the house including Nurseries, Laundry Rooms, Kitchens, Bedrooms, and even Bathrooms!
