Taking Time For Yourself

I'm pretty sure that I've posted something similar to this in the past, although I don't particularly feel like going through all of my posts to find it! This post is a reminder to ladies everywhere. Whether you're a mother or not, you have to make time to take care of yourself. Now, don't let me fool you, I often don't remember to stop and take care of me. All day today I have just felt draggy. You know what I mean? Lazy, tired, unmotivated. At 2pm I was still laying on the couch. Unacceptable. In my defense I had a headache, but I seriously needed to take charge of my day. Baby A was taking a nap so I used that time to take some me time. So I peeled myself off of the couch, turned on my Keurig, and headed to the shower. It's only been an hour, but I already feel so much better about myself and my day. It's amazing how you can just turn your day around so simply! Here's some MCO tips on how to take a few minutes out of your day to take care of yourself.

1) Take a nice hot, long shower.

2) Drink that second cup of coffee who cares if it's 2 in the afternoon!

3) Give yourself a mini makeover- even if that just consists of brushing your hair and fixing your makeup.

4) Paint your nails.

5) Rub your own shoulders there's nothing like working on those knots right!

6) Eat something "naughty". Eat the cookie that's been taunting you. Go ahead, eat the whole candy bar.

7) Lay on your bed. Sometimes taking 10 minutes really makes a difference.

8) Take your computer, iPad, tablet, or whatever, sneak away, and pretend shop for a little bit. It's okay to put the most expensive things you can find from Nordstrom, Sacks, and Tiffany's into your shopping cart, just don't put in any credit card info.

9) Go for a walk.

10) If you have a long amount of you time.... Light some candles, put on your baggiest pair of pants, grab your coziest blankie, and watch a movie.

So far today I've treated myself to #'s 1, 2, and 5. Have you done any?
