Hi. I'm Alex. Owner and creator of Mommys Craft Obsession.
When I started this blog back in May 2012 it was intended to be a place for me to post recipes, DIYs, and craft projects. This was back when I actually did craft projects and a lot more DIYs. You may be wondering...what's changed? Why am I not as crafty as I once was? Four words my friend, four words.
Two Year Old Boy.
My son is my light, my gift, and my biggest blessing, but he is also my biggest time suck. Yep, he just sucks the time right out of the day. If I'm not chasing after him or making him a meal, I'm playing with him, giving him a bath, or trying to get him down for bed. By the end of the day I usually want to just put my feet up and watch some guilty pleasure TV. The last thing on my mind is crafting.
So I know, the title of my blog is a little deceiving but what are you going to do, I'm only human!
What I've learned over the last two years of blogging is that being crafty doesn't always mean that I have to craft. In my eyes being crafty represents trying new recipes, DIYing things that I would normally buy, and a skill for writing I have developed further over the course of this blog. Being crafty to me is doing everything I have to do during my day and still finding the fun in it. At least that's my version.
With all of that being said, I think it's important to do a DIY Round Up of my all time favorite DIYs and projects that I've done here on Mommys Craft Obsession. Especially for those of you who may not have been around for the original publishing :) Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteI love the Cell phone case and Hod podge DIY!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lot of great ideas. The homemade laundry detergent and the mod podge are my favorites.
ReplyDeleteI think you're doing really well for someone who doesn't have time to craft. Raising 5 children of my own, I get it! I love your designs with the candles. I use to have a candle making business and was always looking for new ways to design. Thanks for all the ideas!
ReplyDeleteI like your outlook on crafting , and not having to do crafts to be crafty . ELLen Schull
