It's kind of fun, but I don't like all of the spam or the horrible capitalization problems. It's annoying.
I answered the question about teens watching YouTube. I wouldn't personally be a follower of Mommy Polls though.
ReplyDeleteOne question I answered is "Is it okay for your teen to be on youtube?" - It's interesting to see what peoples answers to some of the polls are, but it's sad to see just how many people I completely disagree with.

ReplyDeleteI answered a bunch including a few about diapers (yes, we use cloth, we use organic/natural disposables too, and my hubby does his fair share of diaper duty). I wish the questions had more substance, but I guess that's what the open discussion is about.

ReplyDeleteI answered questions about finding out the baby's gender and favorite 1990s sitcom. I thought some of the polls were interesting and I might use the site for one or more of the college classes I teach. In my personal life, I prefer to get parenting advice from people I actually know and whose parenting styles I identify with.

ReplyDeleteI answered 5 questions and in only one case was (wildly!) in the minority: the first one about seeking organic clothes for a baby.It wasn't too long ago that I would have thought that it was a hassle and an expense that just wasn't worth it. But the more I know about how low most industry standards are (and we have too many politicians totally beholden to big business and one political party that doesn't even believe in government regulations and oversight that we simply cannot trust the makers of baby clothing (or food) to to make our children's health and well being their top priority.
ReplyDeleteAnother thing to bear in mind that many either do not know or simply forget to consider that our skin breathes and ABSORBS everything it comes into contact with: why do you think that (skin) patches are so powerful most are only available by prescription in order to control the amount people are exposed too - absorption through the skin is even more rapid and direct than anything through the digestive system!
