*I received product for review in exchange for my honest thoughts and opinions*
It is bittersweet to watch my little guy grow up so quickly. Parts of me wishes he could stay little forever while the other parts are having so much fun watching him learn and explore. As he gets older the not so distant realism of potty training enters my mind more and more. Obviously potty training a little boy is going to be quite a bit different than it would be potty training a little girl, since they well, potty differently! One thing I had not considered while brain storming potty training was the height challenge. How would Baby A aim if he wasn't tall enough!? A wonderful MCO reader and I were chatting one day when she told me a story about how she was out with her little guy while potty training and he couldn't reach over the toilet. Being a quick thinking mother, she flipped her diaper bag on its side for her son to step on to use the potty without hesitation. It was in that moment that she knew that there had to be a product on the market that she could take with her for situations like so. Soon after she learned about Tip Pee Toe Step Stools and told me that they were a "must feature company". So without further adieu, I am excited to introduce you to Tip Pee Toe Step Stools!
What is the Tip Pee Toe Step Stool?
The Tip Pee Toe Step Stool is a portable, fold-able, step stool that moms can take with them on the go, for their little ones who are potty training, or just are not tall enough to reach the toilet yet! The Tip Pee Toe Step Stool holds up to 50 lbs

"The Development of the Tip Pee Toe™ Toddler Step Stool
At some point parents are faced with the question of how to potty train and when to potty train our child. The appropriate age for child potty training varies, and potty training a boy will differ from potty training a girl. However, all parents agree that when it is time to start potty training, the process should be as smooth as possible. Child potty training is challenging, but with the right tools, it can be much easier. So when I decided it was time to potty train my boy, I purchased a potty training potty and a bathroom step stool. I thought I had everything I needed.
It wasn’t long before I realized that I did not have everything I needed. When I was potty training my son, it was always a problem when he had to use a public restroom since he was not tall enough to reach the toilet or the sink. I would awkwardly dangle him above the sink and/or toilet, but it was always difficult and uncomfortable for both of us. I always felt bad when he said, “Mama, you are hurting me.”
I searched the Internet to find a toddler step stool that I could carry in my purse. After much research, I realized that there was nothing on the market. I was so frustrated that I improvised a portable step stool, and when other mothers saw my son and me using it, they wanted to buy one. This made me realize that other mothers wanted the same thing I wanted--a lightweight, travel step stool for their child. I decided to design and manufacture a step stool that would meet this need. Finally, after many years of engineering and testing, the Tip Pee Toe Step Stool is a reality."
Although I cannot fully review this product due to Baby A not being appropriate stage in life, Tip Pee Toe generously sent me one of their Step Stools to give my overall opinion on and have for when Baby A is ready! When it arrived the first thing that I noticed is that it was 'gift ready' meaning if you wanted to give it to a friend or family member, all you would have to do is wrap it in some tissue paper and throw it into a gift bag!
The Tip Pee Toe Step Stool is only a few inches tall (5.5 to be exact) so your little one will be able to easily get on and off of the stool without mommy having to worry!
After playing around with this product to the best of my ability without fully reviewing it with Baby A, I was very impressed and I think it can be such an amazing tool to moms, especially moms with little boys!! I am looking forward to having it around while we start potty training!

You've made the switch to cloth for your little one,
now why not make the switch for yourself?
my son thinks he is supposed to pee and poop like the dog, comical at times yes but OMG!
ReplyDeleteMy son isn't potty training yet, but I used to take care of a little boy who took off all of his clothes down to shoes and socks so that he could go pee! The first time I walked into the classroom bathroom to check on him and saw this smiling little boy with a pile of his clothes on the floor, I laughed out loud!!

My daughter, who has been potty trained for a year, used to ask me when she was going to get a penis like daddy so she could pee standing up.
ReplyDeleteOur little guy proceeded to tell everyone at the grocery store that he had pooped in the potty chair!

we havent started yet. my biggest fear is we wont be trained before #2 arrives
ReplyDeleteDefinitely worried about boy's standing up to potty. I can only imagine the messes
ReplyDeleteLast night was the second night my son slept without a diaper on. As we were going to bed, we noticed the potty cup in the hall full of poop.
ReplyDeleteI fear my 6 month old daughter will be a nightmare to potty train. She never alerts me to a wet or soiled diaper. She is perfectly content sitting in her mess
ReplyDeletei haven't started yet but i imagine that its going to be very messy. Tam.c
ReplyDeletereally you want a potty story...oh man that is openning up a can of worms. Ok, I was feeling all Martha Stewart as I studded my ham with cloves in perfect lines when my son said he had to go pee. I told him he was fine just go on his own and call me if he needed me. Next thing I know he is standing next to me with no pants on saying 'mom poops came flying out when I peed". Shoot, I had ham hands! "one moment sweetie mom just needs to wash her hands and then I can help you wipe and flush."
ReplyDelete"mommy I was standing to pee when they came flying out."
Strip down kid, wash floors from bathroom to kitchen, bath kid, jam cloves randomly into ham. Bubble of Martha Stewart-ness popped.....or maybe pooped :)
I'm worried about my son going #2 in the training potty, he's really shy about that, lol
ReplyDeleteWe haven't started yet, but I'm hoping to this summer! This is my first, so I have lots of worries about how the process will go!
ReplyDeleteI have had 5 kids and the most memerable moment is when I was at the grocery store and my son had to pee. He asked where the cheerios were. ( I used cheerios to help potty train) Mind you it hasn't worked for the aim since he is 22 now.
ReplyDeletewe are working on potty training with my 26 month old son. when we first started he peed on his 4 year old sisters floor which got a big reaction out of her of course. so for awhile he thought it was hilarious when his diaper was off to go pee on her floor!! i would hear him in there just giggling away and i knew immediately what he was up to!! LOL! :)
ReplyDeleteAt our house we ask our little man to poo on the potty and he says no! But ask him to put a log in the toilet and he's all for it! LOL

ReplyDeleteMy son once pooped while standing up to pee -oops!
ReplyDeleteMy biggest potty training fear is that he will have to use the potty while I'm checking out at a store, or in some place that does not have a restroom!
ReplyDeleteelaineb1@ymail.com I was potty training my daughter and at the same time had a cat with a catbox we were training. One day she got quite I went and found her in the catbox!!!!! Needless to say we bathed and scrubbed all evening lol
ReplyDeleteI am terrified of accidents...I'm waiting til my 16 mo old boy is a bit older to start training.
ReplyDeleteThe only way we could get my son to go #2 on the potty was if he had a tractor catalogue to look at while he was on it LOL
ReplyDeleteHappily Voted - My favorite story is how my husband and I called our landlords to ask if we could get a dog. After much back and forth they insisted we couldn't citing the reason "dogs pee on the carpet and then we'd have to replace them." Well, we were potty training our 1.5 year old at the time, and no sooner did we hang up, we turned around to see our daughter squatting in a corner going pee. We were rolling with laughter. She had no idea why we were laughing - she thought she was going to get in trouble. It was really just a silly situation in general.
ReplyDeletewe are trying to train my nephew he is 2 but he would just rather carry the potty around with him everywhere instead of using it
ReplyDeleteNot really potty "training" but potty story. Our daughter was about a year and a half. My husband came in from milking and went to take a shower. She followed. (She was carrying around a piece of pizza.) My husband thought he heard "splashing or water" so he stuck his head out of the shower to see our daughter dipping her pizza in the toilet and TAKING A BITE!!!!! UGGGGGGGGG. We still laugh about it today though.
ReplyDeleteWe potty trained my son using a doll with a diaper. Of course he is a boy so the one we chose was a Mr Grinch he got for Christmas. That didnt last long as he was terrified of it! We had to change to a teddy bear instead!
ReplyDeletepeeing all over the carpet!? yikes
ReplyDeletenot potty training yet, but my biggest fear is not "waste" on the floor, but that my LO will take forever to get there and I will be changing diapers for years!
ReplyDeleteas a matter of fact today my grand daughter pulled off her pull up to potty and just stood and peed all over our carpet that was just shampooed she has never done that it was crazy.
ReplyDeleteBeing Nolan is a boy and loves to be outside. My biggest fear is that he will think the outside is his toilet
ReplyDeleteMy biggest fears is my daughter sitting on her potty and sticking her hands down there while she goes since she does that already but hasnt gone at the same time....
ReplyDeleteFalling in the toilet
ReplyDeleteMy son peed on a tree while playing outside at daycare, he said he really had to go bad!
ReplyDeleteBiggest fear is that the cat will try to jump on his lap right when he's finally learning to go in the toilet and scare him
ReplyDeleteI'm very nervous to potty train my son...but I still have time to not have to worry about it!
ReplyDeleteI'm not at the potty stage, but I guess my biggest fear is that my son won't have good aim and that I will be cleaning the bathroom every few minutes while we are training him, lol.
ReplyDeleteI never had to have a stool with me when my potty-training son and I went somewhere. My husband taught him to sit down to go to the bathroom and when he was a bit older and a little taller, he transitioned him to standing without a problem.
